Our leaders
Currently we do not have a full time minister as the McKay’s have gone to South Africa on long-term mission—see below.
Pastors Bob & Sue McKay
Bob and Sue joined Carshalton Baptist Church in 1988. They were converted
whilst living in South Africa, and, accepting their call to ministry,
returned to the UK where Bob attended Bible School.
Alongside actively sharing in Bob’s ministry, Sue also worked for Age Concern. They have three grown-up daughters—Shona, Linda and Fiona.
They have seen considerably changes over the past 18 years. However, in at the end of 2007 they felt it was time to move on from Carshalton Baptist Church, and indeed the UK, and follow their calling to serve the widows and orphans in their spiritual homeland of South Africa. Along with their middle daughter, Linda, they have moved to the Iris Ministries’ base in Backdoor to build and run Iris’s first children’s centre in South Africa.
